After the successful implementation of the Photos from the Field series on a small business’ social media page, I was approached to develop a book based on the series to give to clients as holiday gifts.
The first Photos from the Field book (black) was put together in less than 24 hours in order to meet a printing deadline. It consisted of 17 pages with 60 original photos which were not published in the online series. I was responsible for the layout, design and copy for the book. The book was printed via an online printing company. It featured a hardcover with high quality photo pages.
Six months later, I was asked to create a follow-up book for the series with more pages and photos. For the second book (white) I was given 2 weeks to come up with the layout and design, which allowed me to come up with a completely different look. I utilized a “clean-look” throughout the book – from the updated the logo with a sans-serif font, to the subtle grey bands used for the page headings and the thin black borders that surround the photos. The second book was printed in soft cover with 33 pages and over 100 new photos.
